ACER Aspire 5534 LCD screen replacement guide

1 Before you start make sure to disconnect the power adapter from your laptop.
2 Flip the laptop over and remove the battery.
3 Start by removing 4 rubber screw covers in each corner of the bezel.
4 Proceed with removing 4 bezel screws located under the screw covers.
5 Now you can remove the bezel. Start on one side and move along the perimeter prying the plastic away from the screen. The bezel has hinge covers attached to it. To release them pull to the outer edge of the laptop and lift the bezel.
6 Now replace the 2 top bezel screws in order to attach the back cover to the frame.
7 Remove 4 small screws holding the LCD panel.
8 Place the screen on the keyboard and lift the webcam cable.
9 Gently disconnect the video cable. Discard the old LCD.
10 Place a cloth or a paper towel on the keyboard to protect the screen from scratching. Put the new LCD on the keyboard.
Attention: This is an LED backlit screen it does not use an inverter. Your screen might have an extra connector which has to be plugged in. LED and CCFL screen are not interchangeable.
11 Carefully reconnect the video cable and remember it's very fragile, so don't apply too much force.
12 Reattach the webcam cable and secure it with the tape.
13 Bend out the tape on the back of the screen, lift the screen up and line it up with the frame.
14 Remove the protective film.
15 Secure the LCD with the 4 screws.
16 Now remove the 2 bezel screws that were attached in the step #6.
17 Tuck away all the cables along the perimeter of the screen.
18 Put the bezel back. Snap in the hinge covers and secure the top edge first, then move down along the perimeter.
19 Reinstall the 4 bezel screws.
20 Replace the 4 rubber screw covers.
21 Flip the laptop over and make sure that the bottom edge of the bezel is snapped in. Reinstall the battery.
22 Connect the power adapter and press the start button. Once the boot up graphics appear - the screen is installed correctly. And you're done!
