Replacement Part Types
One laptop model can be manufactured with different display options:
- non-touch screen,
- on-cell touch display,
- touch screen display assembly (digitizer layer glued on top of the screen).
Displays can be
replaced only by a screen with matching display technology and specifications.
IPS LCD and OLED are not cross-compatible!
- Original IPS LCD → replace with IPS LCD only

- Original OLED → replace with OLED only

- Frameless Matrix (usually found in MacBooks)

On-cell Touch Display must be replaced only by a Display with an embedded touch panel.

Touch Screen Display Assembly has a separate digitizer layer on top of the screen and can be replaced (from easy to hard) by:
- Display Assembly (Complete Top Lid)
