This is a step-by-step guide on how to replace an LCD screen on ASUS U50A. Please watch the video or follow these steps below:

First disconnect the power adapter from your laptop.

Next flip the laptop over and remove the battery.

Remove 6 rubber screw covers: 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

Proceed with removing 6 bezel screws. Note that the 2 bottom screws are longer than the rest.

Now you can remove the bezel. Start on one side and move along the perimeter prying the plastic away from the screen.

The bezel has hinge covers attached to it. Use flat pick or a screw driver to release the hinge covers and set the plastic cover aside.

Now remove 10 frame screws holding the LCD panel.

Place the screen on the keyboard.

Gently peel off the tape securing the video connector and disconnect the video cable. Discard the old LCD.

Place a cloth or a paper towel on the keyboard to protect the screen from scratching. Put the new LCD on the keyboard.

Attention: This is an LED backlit screen it does not use an inverter. Your screen might have an extra connector which has to be plugged in. LED and CCFL screen are not interchangeable.

Carefully reconnect the video cable and secure it with the tape.

Bend out the tape on the back of the screen, lift the screen up and line it up with the frame.

Remove the protective film.

Secure the LCD with the 10 screws.

Put the bezel back. Snap in the hinge covers and secure the top edge first, then move down along the perimeter.

Reinstall the 2 long bezel screws on the bottom and then 4 shorter screws on the top.

Replace the 6 rubber screw covers.

Flip the laptop over and reinstall the battery.

Connect the power adapter and press the start button. Once the boot up graphics appear - the screen is installed correctly. And you're done!
