Replacement of screen on Acer Aspire V5-571P screen by LaptopScreen.com
Shut down the laptop
To begin make sure that the laptop is turned off and disconnect the
power. Then remove the battery by sliding the release to the side as
shown on the case
Separate the assembly from the case
Begin separating the LCD and touchscreen assembly from the case carefully.
Insert your prying tool between the back cover and the front-facing frame
at the top edge and work your way around. The assembly is held in place
by plastic clips only be sure not to apply too much force. If the clip
is not opening easily it is best to work your way around to it from the
opposite side. Once all the clips are undone pull the old screen assembly
down onto the keyboard
Separate the microphone
Pry out the microphone and separate its cable
Disconnect the assembly
Open the two digitizer connectors by lifting as plastic tabs. Unglue the digitizers
grounding pad. Slide out the screen digitizer cables from the digitizer
controller. Carefully peel video connectors clear tape and disconnect
the video cable from the LCD
Separate the webcam
Remove the webcam from the old assembly
Remove digitizer board
Pry off the digitizer board from the LCD and set it aside. Set the old
LCD and touchscreen assembly aside
Reconnect the ribbon cables to the new assembly
At this point the new LCD screen assembly can be installed. Place
the new screen face down on the keyboard and align the touch screen board
with the orange ribbon cables. Insert the two ribbon cables into the touch
screen board making sure that they're fully in and are not slanted. Close
the two tabs securing each connector and press on the digitizer board to
adhere it to the back of the new LCD. Secure the digitizers grounding pad
by pressing it to the metal on the back of the new LCD
Reattach the microphone
Reattached the microphone with water securing tape to the back of the LCD and
reinstall the microphone
Reconnect the video cable
Using both hands gently reconnect the video connector to the LCD making
sure that it's not twisted or slanted. It must be plugged in straight.
Secure the video connector with extra tape
Replace the webcam
Make sure its cable is aligned properly and secure with extra tape
Snap the new assembly into the back cover
Lift the new LCD and touchscreen assembly and align up with a back cover.
Snap the display assembly to the back cover by pressing with your fingers
around the perimeter of the screen. Flip the laptop over and make sure that
the bottom edge of the display assembly is also snapped in.
Replace the battery. Reconnect the power cable turn the laptop on and
we're done!
