For the replacement process we will need the following tools: Phillips Screwdriver, Heat Gun,
Plastic Pick
Shut down the laptop
To begin turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord
Remove the bezel
Start removing the bezel. Start from the left side and go around the perimeter
unsnapping the tabs underneath. Put the bezel aside
Remove four screws
The screen is held in place with four Phillips screws in the corners. Remove the screws.
Place the screen on the keyboard
Disconnect the video cable
The video connector is secured with clear tape. Peel off the tape. And using both hands
gently disconnect the cable. Discard the old screen
Connect the new screen
Take the new screen and place it on the keyboard. Using both hands
reconnect the video cable. Secure it with clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to
force any connectors. As well you must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in
Test the new screen
Now we can test the new screen. Lift the screen up and lean it against the back cover.
Press the power button. The start up graphics appear and we can finish the installation process
Install the new screen using adhesive strips
The new screen doesn't have tabs/brackets so we are going to use the adhesive strips
to attach it to the back cover. We offer standard double-sided tape for such
repairs on our site: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/section/tools/
Before we apply adhesive strips we have to replace the top two screws
to keep mounting rails in place. Then using alcohol and a piece of cloth clean the inner
surface of the back cover and back sides of the new LCD. Apply the new adhesive strips
on the back of the LCD. Lift the screen up and using a fine micro fiber cloth apply pressure
to the display along the edges to catch the adhesive. Replace the two bottom screws
Replace the bezel
Remove the protective film. Replace the bezel. Start from the bottom
then go around the perimeter snapping tabs back in place. Use one hand to support
the back cover while snapping the tabs along the hinge.
Turn the laptop on. And we are done!
