Installation of LVDS Cable made by LaptopScreen.com

General information

Sometimes the only difference in technically identical LCD screens can be the position of
the video connector. The primary reason for such inconsistency, even across identical part
numbers, is due to custom requests by laptop manufacturers to suit their motherboard
placement within the laptop.

Situations like these can be easily solved with a flexible LVDS adapter, which we supply
depending on the laptop model and screen availability. The idea is to extend the video
connector to the appropriate position in order to suit the specific model of the laptop.

You can use your original screen as a reference for installing such an LVDS extension:

Connect the extention to the screen

Place your extension with the adhesive protectors facing up and the female socket of the
extension pointing in the opposite direction of the original socket.

Gently plug the extension's male lead into the new screen's video socket. Make sure the
connectors are aligned and properly plugged in.

Remove the adhesive protectors

Go ahead and remove both adhesive protectors to expose the glue designed to hold the
extension in place permanently.

Flip the female socket

Flip the female socket of the extension over 180 degrees to align with the reference
connector position.

Secure adhesive pads

Please make sure to line up the connectors with your reference fairly closely, since the
adhesive is designed to be applied once only. Secure both adhesive pads by gently pushing
on them with your finger.

Very Important: Do not push down on the loop created by the flip of the extension. It
is meant to stay in a loop! If you attempt to make the extension sit flush at the bend
point, you will damage the internal leads and render the extension permanently damaged.

This is what connecting the laptop's LVDS cable should look like: align the connectors and
gently plug the cable in, just the way it was plugged into your original screen.
