For the replacement process we will need the following tools: X-Acto knife, Small Phillips screwdriver, Heat Gun, Plastic Pick
and Metal Pick
Shut down the laptop
To begin turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord
Remove the bezel
The bezel is held in place with two Phillips screws in the bottom corners. Use an X-Acto knife to
remove two tiny pieces of plastic covering the screws. Remove the screws. Start removing the bezel.
Using both hands pull the bezel away from the screen. Start from the left side. Then go around the
perimeter unsnapping the tabs underneath. Separate the hinge cover. Remove the bezel
Warm up the back cover
The LCD screen is slightly glued to the plastic cover. We need a Heat Gun to soften the glue.
Warm up both sides of the top cover
Separate the LCD screen
Using plastic pick start separating the LCD screen. Move the plastic pick along the right and left sides
of the screen. Once separation is achieved place the LCD screen on the keyboard
Disconnect the old screen
Use a metal pick to peel off the clear tape securing the video connector. Open the connector and put
the screen aside
Connect the new screen
Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard. Reconnect the video cable. Secure it with a
clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to force any connectors. As well you must not
twist or slant the connector when plugging it in
Reinstall the new screen
Lift the screen up. Press firmly along the left and the right sides of the LCD screen to glue
it back tho the cover
Test the new screen
Before we continue it is better to check if the screen is working. Press the power button and if the
start up graphics appears we can finish the installation process. Turn the laptop off
Replace the bezel
Start replacing the bezel. Insert the hinge covers in its slots. Then go around
the perimeter snapping the tabs back in place. Use one hand to support the back cover
while snapping the tabs along the bottom side. Replace the two Phillips screws in the
bottom corners. Replace the two plastic covers.
Reconnect the power cord. Turn the laptop on. And We are done!
