Click here to buy the screen for ASUS F515J

Tools

For the replacement process we will need the following tools: X-Acto knife, Small Phillips screwdriver, Heat Gun, Plastic Pick
and Metal Pick

Shut down the laptop

To begin turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord

Remove the bezel

The bezel is held in place with two Phillips screws in the bottom corners. Use an X-Acto knife to
remove two tiny pieces of plastic covering the screws. Remove the screws. Start removing the bezel.
Using both hands pull the bezel away from the screen. Start from the left side. Then go around the
perimeter unsnapping the tabs underneath. Separate the hinge cover. Remove the bezel

Warm up the back cover

The LCD screen is slightly glued to the plastic cover. We need a Heat Gun to soften the glue.
Warm up both sides of the top cover

Separate the LCD screen

Using plastic pick start separating the LCD screen. Move the plastic pick along the right and left sides
of the screen. Once separation is achieved place the LCD screen on the keyboard

Disconnect the old screen

Use a metal pick to peel off the clear tape securing the video connector. Open the connector and put
the screen aside

Connect the new screen

Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard. Reconnect the video cable. Secure it with a
clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to force any connectors. As well you must not
twist or slant the connector when plugging it in

Reinstall the new screen

Lift the screen up. Press firmly along the left and the right sides of the LCD screen to glue
it back tho the cover

Test the new screen

Before we continue it is better to check if the screen is working. Press the power button and if the
start up graphics appears we can finish the installation process. Turn the laptop off

Replace the bezel

Start replacing the bezel. Insert the hinge covers in its slots. Then go around
the perimeter snapping the tabs back in place. Use one hand to support the back cover
while snapping the tabs along the bottom side. Replace the two Phillips screws in the
bottom corners. Replace the two plastic covers.

Reconnect the power cord. Turn the laptop on. And We are done!
