Approximately half the screen on my Dell Vostro 1500 became very dim and almost unreadable.  Read up on replacement process on You Tube and process didn't appear too technically difficult, so I ordered a new replacement screen from laptopscreen.com based on many positive web reviews.  Replacement was easy, and I'm back up and running.  Replacement arrived in less than 48 hours, and I saved a ton of money compared to outsourcing the repair or replacing the computer.
