How to install an LVDS 40-pin ribbon extension cable for LED panel (left-to-right connector)

Sometimes the only difference in technically identical LCD screens can be the position of the video connector, please follow this step-by-step guide below in order to adjust the new screen's video connector position:
1 Your original screen has a right-sided connector and the new screen has left-sided connector.

Primary reason for such inconsistency even across identical part numbers is due to custom requests by the laptop manufacturers to suit their motherboard placement within the laptop.

2 Situations like these can be easily solved with a flexible LVDS adapter, which we supply depending on laptop model and screen availability.

The idea is to extend the video connector to the appropriate position in order to suit the specific model of the laptop.

3 You can use your original screen as a reference for installing such LVDS extension.

4 Place your extension with adhesive protectors facing up, and the female socket of the extension pointing in opposite direction of the original socket. Then gently plug in the extension's male lead into the new screen's video socket. Make sure the connectors are aligned, and properly plugged in.

5 Then go ahead and remove both adhesive protectors to expose the glue designed to hold the extension in place permanently.

6 Flip the female socket of the extension over 180 degrees to align with the reference connector.

7 Please make sure to align the connectors with your reference fairly close, since adhesive is designed to be applied once only.

8 Secure both adhesive pads by gently pushing on them with your finger.

9 VERY IMPORTANT!!! Do not push on the loop created by the flip of the extension; it is meant to stay in a loop, if you attempt to make the extension flush at the bend point, you will damage the internal leads and render the extension permanently damaged.

10 This is what connecting the laptop's LVDS cable would look like on your laptop. Align the connectors and gently plug the cable in, just the way it was plugged into your original screen.

You can go ahead and test the screen by booting up the computer with DC power adapter plugged in. Once the start up graphics appear on screen, push the power button to cancel boot up. You can use some extra tape to secure the extension cable and the video cable together before completing assembly.
