OnLineFraud

Billions of dollars are stolen from unsuspecting credit card holders every year world-wide. Quite often the card holder will never know where their card was exposed, and will be forced to deal with the aftermath. In most circumstances the illegitimate transactions are charged-back and the card holder gets their money back. The unfortunate part of this story is the fact that even-though the card holder gets their money, the shop which sends the product in connection with a fraudulently used card will never recoup the product back, and will have to live with a loss.

The current credit card payment system allows for any credit card to be billed with utmost minimal information, and the money is withdrawn almost instantaneously. However, every credit card transaction has to be looked at in the entirety of it’s “payment cycle”. As most credit cards allow up to 60 days for the card holder to request a charge-back, the transaction cannot be considered fully complete until the funds have fully cleared for 60 days. Additionally, there are stringent guidelines set for merchants to accept, record and verify the transaction; steps which must be taken in order for the merchant to prove that the transaction is legitimate.

LaptopScreen.com strikes a balance with protecting its customers, credit card holders and itself through the use of industry’s highest standard of fraud prevention. We require and verify full card details which are submitted to us along with an order. In most circumstances where the information matches bank records perfectly, the verification is seamless and unnoticeable to the customer.

In-cases where some information is not correct and further verification is needed, LaptopScreen.com will put the order on-hold, and will attempt to contact the customer by creating a support ticket and sending a notification of the request via e-mail. In some cases a follow up phone call may be made to verify information over the phone. When the corrected information has been submitted by the customer, it is again verified against bank records, and any inconsistencies are noted, then a second (final) request for verification is made.

In-cases where no reply to information request is received from the customer, or the verification response returns inconsistencies over two attempts, the order is cancelled and funds are returned to the card with-in 14 days of the receipt of the order.

It is very important to stay tuned into communication from us until a tracking number for your order has been posted in “My Account” on our website, or until an e-mail with the tracking number is received. Otherwise a request for verification may be missed, and the order could get cancelled.
On a typical business day, all orders submitted with correct information prior to 1:00pm PST will be shipped the same day, and a tracking number will be forwarded to you typically by 2pm PST.
(For weekend orders, the tracking number should be posted by 2pm the following Monday)

working LCD replacement

Here at LaptopScreen.com we have a simple philosophy when it comes to the LCD replacement:
You need a working screen, and we are here to deliver it.

Our clients range from professional techs repairing dozens of computer screens per day to stay at home moms doing their first repair to grandparents who replace their grandchildren screens as Christmas gifts. With such a wide range of clientele we found ourselves facing a unique challenge.

We found that what most people care about is getting their laptop back to working order.

Certainly there are people who know the ins and outs of the LCD technology, the supporting hardware, the electronics standards, the intricacies and the quirks; however there is an equal if not larger amount of people who are simply in distress – their work, studies, digital life is covered in cracks; and splotches of black ink are marring what used to be their window to the world.

Just several years ago, LCD replacement was a highly contested topic, with manufacturers charging exorbitant prices for broken screen repairs, often at half or more of the actual cost of the brand new laptop. In more recent years, the clout surrounding LCD replacement was dispersed, not with-out our help, via hundreds of video tutorials posted to YouTube, showing real people, replacing their broken screens, with a help of a screwdriver and some ingenuity. These developments empowered thousands of people to get back to work on their own.

We realize that our customers are real people who by the flow of the circumstances ended up with a  cracked screen, and at this moment their top priority is to get it fixed. We did our research, found suppliers, built relationships with them, we created technical knowledge base, trained specialists in the field, then we created a comprehensive site, with hundreds of pages of articles describing in the smallest detail everything there is to know about LCD screen replacement. We went further and created dozens of professionally made video tutorials; and once the topic took off, we got our customers to show their own LCD replacement experiences. We did all this to make LCD replacement as easy as possible.

But lets be honest, electronics is a touchy subject on it’s own, and a scourge of phantom issues was unknowingly bestowed upon engineers, technicians and regular folk at the moment when Thomas Edison turned on his first light-bulb. So when it comes to dealing with LCD technology, computers, myriad of parts and methods, inevitably things do not always work “straight-out-of-the-box”.

We decided early on to take care of our customers, and provide a solid promise, the one that will ensure that our customers can feel confident replacing their LCD screen. That is how our guarantee of a working replacement came to life. It’s a promise of ours to take care of your mishap, to ensure that we will do everything possible to get your computer to light up with no cracks or splotches, to get you back to work, school, remote friends and family.

We guarantee a working replacement, or your money back!

You asked – we listened!

Since the beginning of this month, we have added the long-expected feature:

Accidental Damage Protection Plan (ADPP)!

adp_illustration_1Yes, from now on you are able to get the protection plan for your screen. It is different from the 3-year warranty; if you were wise to get this plan at the checkout, and your screen is physically damaged (e.g. dropped, cracked, shattered, etc.) within the year from the date of the purchase, you are entitled to a free replacement screen, non-negotiable.

ADPP is offered to the new customers, limited to their first order. Unfortunately, it is limited to one ADPP per accountHowever, using the guest checkout, you can buy as many screens with the ADPP as you need.

In the event of return, the customer will be required to send the broken screen to our warehouse (return shipping costs must be covered by the customer, unless the Return Shipping Insurance was purchased at the checkout).

ADPP price is calculated in accordance to the price of the screen.

ADPP is a great way to protect your purchase! Think of it as of an investment in the future possible repairs. It will always be cheaper than buying a brand new screen!

Screen shot 2014-01-29 at 11.22.49 AMSince the last week we have started offering free returns for the orders shipped to the continental United States and Canada, thus eliminating the reason to purchase an additional Return Shipping Insurance (RSI). So, if you have ordered a wrong screen, want to exchange your screen because you did not like the finish type, or would like to try TN display vs. an IPS display, you are welcome to contact us to get your Free Return Label.

NOTE: Returns are free within 30 days only!

Getting a return label has never been easier: you just need to submit us a support ticket via this page. While not a requirement at all, we would appreciate if you could add the reason for the return – e.g. did not work / did not need / dead pixels / etc. This will simply ease the restocking process for us, which will result in lower overhead, thus, translating into smaller processing costs in the future.

Free returns do not mean that you will be credited if you decide to ship the item back to us using your own shipping courier – instead, please contact us for your return label, which will be issued free of charge.

Free return shipping does not indicate that the original shipping charges will be refunded. For example, if you buy a $50 item and pay an additional $10 for shipping, then, you receive the screen, contact us and get the label, send it back for a refund in its original condition with the original packaging and packing materials, you get a $50 refund, no restocking fees applied.

Please note, that the free returns are currently offered to our clients in the from the Continental United States; which include 48 states, all except Alaska and Hawaii; and all major cities in Canada, where UPS operates.

Remember, here at LaptopScreen we guarantee a working replacement or your money back!

warranty-physical_damage_issue_2At LaptopScreen.com we provide an incredible 3-year warranty for all of our LCD screens, and it is automatically included in the purchase price. Our customers have an option of upgrading to a 5-year warranty for a nominal fee, if they choose to do so.

Other major laptop screen companies do not readily provide (free) warranty coverage; though a manufacturer’s warranty is often included with most major purchases. Those manufacturer warranties typically last for only 1 year, and there is a long and expensive process in place, which generally deters customers from actually taking advantage of the warranty.

That is not the case when it comes to LaptopScreen.com. Customers actually do contact us up until the end of their warranty coverage, and we do provide them with replacement screens.

What exactly is covered under warranty?

Our warranty fully covers your LCD screen for 3 (or 5) years, from manufacturer defects.

NB: Physical damage is NOT a manufacturer defect.

With years of expertise behind them, our qualified technicians, who have seen and experienced it all, when it comes to damaged LCD screens, are able to determine whether or not physical damage has occurred.

On the occasion, customers decide to neither take their laptop and new replacement LCD screen to a repair shop, nor to carefully follow our instructional videos, which show step-by-step instructions on how to safely replace an LCD screen. Despite all the information available, and all the cautionary advice, these customers end up damaging the LCD screens as they’re attempting to replace them in their laptops.

A few things that our technicians have figured out about the nature of LCD screens:

Despite what you may think, LCD screens do not just crack by themselves!

If a laptop is sitting on a coffee table, minding its own business, it is unlikely to get bored and decide to end the life of its LCD screen. LCD screens are delicate – by placing an object on or applying force to the top of a laptop, there is potential for the LCD screen to be cracked, shattered or otherwise damaged.

There is a correct way to install LCD screens. Unlike other sites, we like to show you how to install your new LCD screen on your laptop, so you are not required to take it to a shop to have someone do it for you. We have an extensive collection of the repair videos, that were submitted to us by our customers – see the entire list at http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/video/.

LCD screens very rarely arrive damaged.

If the LCD screen is dead-on-arrival (D.O.A.), or if it is physically damaged when you remove it from the packaging, please let us know within 5 days to report. The procedure for claiming damage starts out the same as a warranty claim would.

daymOur current damage rate is at 0.032%; however, the damage may still occur due to the circumstances beyond our control, due to improper handling or sorting line jams. So, if upon the delivery, your package looks like the one pictured to the left, it is a good idea to contact us right away.

Q: My LCD screen has a manufacturer defect, and is not physically damaged. How do I initiate a warranty claim?

Submitting a warranty claim is easy! Contact our Support Department, and, if possible, attach a picture (or several) to the support ticket. One of out technicians will contact you shortly with the further instructions.
