You asked – we listened!

Since the beginning of this month, we have added the long-expected feature:

Accidental Damage Protection Plan (ADPP)!

adp_illustration_1Yes, from now on you are able to get the protection plan for your screen. It is different from the 3-year warranty; if you were wise to get this plan at the checkout, and your screen is physically damaged (e.g. dropped, cracked, shattered, etc.) within the year from the date of the purchase, you are entitled to a free replacement screen, non-negotiable.

ADPP is offered to the new customers, limited to their first order. Unfortunately, it is limited to one ADPP per accountHowever, using the guest checkout, you can buy as many screens with the ADPP as you need.

In the event of return, the customer will be required to send the broken screen to our warehouse (return shipping costs must be covered by the customer, unless the Return Shipping Insurance was purchased at the checkout).

ADPP price is calculated in accordance to the price of the screen.

ADPP is a great way to protect your purchase! Think of it as of an investment in the future possible repairs. It will always be cheaper than buying a brand new screen!

Screen shot 2014-01-29 at 11.22.49 AMSince the last week we have started offering free returns for the orders shipped to the continental United States and Canada, thus eliminating the reason to purchase an additional Return Shipping Insurance (RSI). So, if you have ordered a wrong screen, want to exchange your screen because you did not like the finish type, or would like to try TN display vs. an IPS display, you are welcome to contact us to get your Free Return Label.

NOTE: Returns are free within 30 days only!

Getting a return label has never been easier: you just need to submit us a support ticket via this page. While not a requirement at all, we would appreciate if you could add the reason for the return – e.g. did not work / did not need / dead pixels / etc. This will simply ease the restocking process for us, which will result in lower overhead, thus, translating into smaller processing costs in the future.

Free returns do not mean that you will be credited if you decide to ship the item back to us using your own shipping courier – instead, please contact us for your return label, which will be issued free of charge.

Free return shipping does not indicate that the original shipping charges will be refunded. For example, if you buy a $50 item and pay an additional $10 for shipping, then, you receive the screen, contact us and get the label, send it back for a refund in its original condition with the original packaging and packing materials, you get a $50 refund, no restocking fees applied.

Please note, that the free returns are currently offered to our clients in the from the Continental United States; which include 48 states, all except Alaska and Hawaii; and all major cities in Canada, where UPS operates.

Remember, here at LaptopScreen we guarantee a working replacement or your money back!

warranty-physical_damage_issue_2At LaptopScreen.com we provide an incredible 3-year warranty for all of our LCD screens, and it is automatically included in the purchase price. Our customers have an option of upgrading to a 5-year warranty for a nominal fee, if they choose to do so.

Other major laptop screen companies do not readily provide (free) warranty coverage; though a manufacturer’s warranty is often included with most major purchases. Those manufacturer warranties typically last for only 1 year, and there is a long and expensive process in place, which generally deters customers from actually taking advantage of the warranty.

That is not the case when it comes to LaptopScreen.com. Customers actually do contact us up until the end of their warranty coverage, and we do provide them with replacement screens.

What exactly is covered under warranty?

Our warranty fully covers your LCD screen for 3 (or 5) years, from manufacturer defects.

NB: Physical damage is NOT a manufacturer defect.

With years of expertise behind them, our qualified technicians, who have seen and experienced it all, when it comes to damaged LCD screens, are able to determine whether or not physical damage has occurred.

On the occasion, customers decide to neither take their laptop and new replacement LCD screen to a repair shop, nor to carefully follow our instructional videos, which show step-by-step instructions on how to safely replace an LCD screen. Despite all the information available, and all the cautionary advice, these customers end up damaging the LCD screens as they’re attempting to replace them in their laptops.

A few things that our technicians have figured out about the nature of LCD screens:

Despite what you may think, LCD screens do not just crack by themselves!

If a laptop is sitting on a coffee table, minding its own business, it is unlikely to get bored and decide to end the life of its LCD screen. LCD screens are delicate – by placing an object on or applying force to the top of a laptop, there is potential for the LCD screen to be cracked, shattered or otherwise damaged.

There is a correct way to install LCD screens. Unlike other sites, we like to show you how to install your new LCD screen on your laptop, so you are not required to take it to a shop to have someone do it for you. We have an extensive collection of the repair videos, that were submitted to us by our customers – see the entire list at http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/video/.

LCD screens very rarely arrive damaged.

If the LCD screen is dead-on-arrival (D.O.A.), or if it is physically damaged when you remove it from the packaging, please let us know within 5 days to report. The procedure for claiming damage starts out the same as a warranty claim would.

daymOur current damage rate is at 0.032%; however, the damage may still occur due to the circumstances beyond our control, due to improper handling or sorting line jams. So, if upon the delivery, your package looks like the one pictured to the left, it is a good idea to contact us right away.

Q: My LCD screen has a manufacturer defect, and is not physically damaged. How do I initiate a warranty claim?

Submitting a warranty claim is easy! Contact our Support Department, and, if possible, attach a picture (or several) to the support ticket. One of out technicians will contact you shortly with the further instructions.
